Oblong member project Common Conversation has just been awarded £4000 from the Allen Lane Foundation. They had just run out of money, so this is great news - congratulations to all concerned. Common Conversation runs free conversational English classes for asylum seekers and refugees at the Common Place. The grant will pay for meal expenses, teaching materials, room hire and travel expenses. See our members section for more details.
Oblong's member projects collective has just helped Common Conversation apply for another grant from Leeds Primary Care Trust. Well done to new volunteer Melinda for getting the application done in record time. Fingers crossed.
